NAMM Show 2017, Surprising Opportunities and Our New In-House Luthier Providing Instrument Repairs
The boys of Clarizio Music have arrived! The NAMM Show is an annual event in the US that its organizers describe as "the world’s largest trade-only event for the music products industry". It is held every January in Anaheim, California, US at the Anaheim Convention Center, and is one of the two largest music product trade shows in the world.Matt is in Anaheim, CA to attend NAMM Convention, The National Association of Music Merchants, making contacts with various music industry dealers and professionals in order to bring our local customers a more diverse selection of music related products and services. Our family has an interesting backstory regarding how we found ourselves music store owners virtually overnight. Companies have really embraced our little shop because we jumped into this for the right reasons. We truly care about the legacy that was handed to us. There is no option in our minds to let it just fade away. We have to make this work because of the past, present and future students and customers who have walked through these doors. Even some of the big guys, who may never even have talked to such a small shop in the past, are lending us their ear just because of our backstory.Another thing that is exciting is the addition of our in house repair tech, Alan Brace. We really feel like this can be a lucrative revenue stream for the shop. For a musician to be able to drop off their instrument and know that it will be cared for in house by a trained professional is huge. He's not just some hack roadie kid who happens to be able to restring a guitar. He's a legit luthier who can handle almost anything that walks in our door. He's also got a knack for customer service and can easily speak to people about all things guitar. A bonus is that he's got a wicked cool East London accent.
