Laurelyn has had a lifelong passion for music, and began playing flute in elementary school. She played various instruments throughout school, including flute, piccolo and saxophone. She also started studying guitar in private lessons in middle school. Laurelyn went to Monmouth University where she studied music and education. She has worked in music classrooms in private & public schools in Ocean County for several years before switching to private instruction.
Laurelyn enjoys teaching students of all ages, especially those in elementary, middle & high school, and students who have a strong passion for music. She believes that anyone can experience the positive benefits of studying music, and strives to make her lessons fun and engaging for all age and skill levels. She teaches piano, voice, guitar, brass and woodwind. Laurelyn was vocally trained in the classical style and loves teaching students how to adapt classical singing techniques to other genres. She also helps to run the Rock Band program here at Clarizio Music Center.
